Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using our services

Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the CTS Travel website and services. By accessing our website or booking travel services with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services.

Our Services

CTS Travel provides travel planning, booking, and tour services primarily focused on China travel experiences. We act as an intermediary between you and various travel service providers including hotels, airlines, local guides, and transportation companies. While we carefully select our partners, the actual travel services are provided by these third parties.

Booking and Reservations

When you make a booking with CTS Travel:

  • You confirm that all information provided is accurate and complete
  • You are at least 18 years old or have parental/guardian consent
  • You are authorized to make the booking on behalf of all travelers in your party
  • A booking is confirmed only upon receipt of your deposit and written confirmation from us
  • Prices are subject to change until full payment is received

Payment Terms

Payment requirements for our tours:

  • A deposit of 20-30% is required to secure your booking
  • Full payment is due 30 days before departure
  • Bookings made within 30 days of departure require full payment at time of booking
  • We accept major credit cards, bank transfers, and other payment methods as specified

All prices are quoted in US Dollars unless otherwise stated. Currency exchange rates may affect final pricing for non-USD payments.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Cancellation fees are calculated based on the date we receive your written cancellation notice:

  • 60+ days before departure: Loss of deposit only
  • 30-59 days before departure: 50% of total tour cost
  • 15-29 days before departure: 75% of total tour cost
  • 14 days or less before departure: 100% of total tour cost (no refund)

Some services (flights, train tickets, special events) may have stricter cancellation policies. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect against unforeseen circumstances.

Changes to Bookings

If you wish to make changes to your booking after confirmation, please contact us as soon as possible. Changes are subject to availability and may incur additional fees. We reserve the right to make minor changes to itineraries due to operational requirements, weather conditions, or circumstances beyond our control.

Travel Documents and Visas

You are responsible for:

  • Ensuring your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates
  • Obtaining all necessary visas and travel permits for China
  • Meeting all health and vaccination requirements
  • Complying with customs regulations

While we can provide guidance and visa support services, we are not responsible if you are denied entry due to improper documentation.

Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that all travelers purchase comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation, medical emergencies, evacuation, lost luggage, and personal liability. Travel insurance should be purchased at the time of booking to ensure maximum coverage. CTS Travel is not responsible for any losses incurred due to lack of adequate insurance coverage.

Health and Safety

Some of our tours involve physical activities and may not be suitable for travelers with certain medical conditions. You must:

  • Inform us of any medical conditions, allergies, or mobility limitations at the time of booking
  • Consult with your physician before traveling, especially to high-altitude destinations like Tibet
  • Carry adequate personal medication and prescriptions
  • Follow safety instructions provided by guides and tour operators

Limitation of Liability

CTS Travel acts as an agent for hotels, airlines, transportation companies, and other service providers. While we exercise due diligence in selecting our partners, we are not liable for:

  • Acts, omissions, or negligence of third-party service providers
  • Delays, cancellations, or changes caused by weather, natural disasters, civil unrest, or other force majeure events
  • Personal injury, illness, death, or property damage during your trip
  • Loss of enjoyment or any indirect, consequential, or special damages

Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for the tour in question.

Traveler Conduct

You agree to conduct yourself in a manner that does not disrupt the tour or infringe upon the rights of other travelers. We reserve the right to remove any traveler whose behavior is deemed disruptive, dangerous, or illegal, without refund. You must comply with all local laws and regulations while traveling in China.

Intellectual Property

All content on our website, including text, images, logos, and itineraries, is the property of CTS Travel or our content providers and is protected by copyright laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our content for commercial purposes without written permission.

Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of our services shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of the People's Republic of China, with Shanghai as the venue.

Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website. Your continued use of our services after any modifications indicates your acceptance of the updated Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
