13-Day Pilgrimage to Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains

Arrive in Chengdu by flight according to the schedule. After check-in, enjoy free time.

After breakfast, depart by coach to visit the world's largest Buddha—the Leshan Giant Buddha (including Lingyun Temple and the Nine-Turns Plank Walk). In the afternoon, proceed to Mount Emei Scenic Area and take the shuttle bus to Leidongping to experience the unique scenery of "four seasons on one mountain." Overnight stay at the Golden Summit Hotel.

After breakfast, proceed to Mount Emei's main peak, the Golden Summit, to view the sea of clouds and Buddha's light (weather permitting). Visit the Golden Hall and Silver Hall, and pay homage to the 48-meter-tall Ten Directions Puxian Bodhisattva statue. Take the cable car back to Leidongping for lunch, then board the sightseeing bus to the mid-mountain area. Explore Wannian Temple, the first major temple built on the mountain (cable car fee not included), before proceeding to the natural scenic highlights: Qingyinge Pavilion and Baoguo Temple. After sightseeing, return to Chengdu by bus.

After breakfast, visit Wuhou Temple and Jinli Ancient Street, followed by a tasting of Chengdu street snacks at noon. After lunch, proceed to the airport/train station for your flight (approx. 17:35-19:35) or high-speed rail (approx. 7:11-14:31) to Taiyuan. Check into your hotel.

After breakfast, board the coach for the Buddhist holy site of Mount Wutai in Xinzhou. Following lunch, pay respects at the "Little Potala Palace"—Pusa Ding; visit Xiantong Temple, the largest monastery on Mount Wutai and the foremost temple of the Qing sect; and explore Ta Yuan Temple, home to the iconic Great White Pagoda. After dinner, check into the hotel.

After breakfast, proceed to the most revered site, the Ten Thousand Buddhas Pavilion (Wuyé Temple); ascend the minor pilgrimage peak, Daisuo Peak; visit the ancestral temple of Manjusri, Shuxiang Temple; tour Puhua Temple, Zhenhai Temple, and Lingfeng Temple; and view the natural wonder of the Heaven-Gazing Buddha from afar. Later, return by bus to Taiyuan for hotel check-in.

After breakfast, take a flight from Taiyuan to Ningbo. Upon arrival, board a tour bus to Zhujiajian Pier in Zhoushan and take a ferry to the Buddhist paradise of Mount Putuo. Visit Puji Temple, the largest monastery on Mount Putuo. Then proceed to the Western Heaven Scenic Area: Heart-Shaped Stone, Two Turtles Listening to the Dharma Stone, and Guanyin Ancient Cave.

After breakfast, visit Putuo Mountain's most iconic structure, the South Sea Guanyin, along with the Purple Bamboo Grove, the Cave of Tidal Sounds, the second-largest temple Fayu Temple, and enjoy free time at Qianbu Sand Beach. View the Great Reclining Buddha of Luojia Mountain from afar. After lunch, take a boat to Zhujiajian Pier, then transfer by coach to Hangzhou for hotel check-in.

Depart from the hotel and travel by air-conditioned coach to [West Lake, Hangzhou]. Enjoy a [boat tour of West Lake] and view Leifeng Pagoda from afar. Visit [Fish Viewing at Flower Harbor], one of the Ten Scenic Views of West Lake, and take in the [scenery of Qiantang River]. Subsequently, explore [Flying Peak] and [Lingyin Temple]. Later, check into the hotel.

After breakfast, board the coach for Jiuhua Mountain and tour the scenic area. Visit Huacheng Temple—the founding temple of Jiuhua Mountain—Dizang Chan Temple, and the Hall of the Incarnate Buddha. Then ascend to Baishui Palace via cable car or on foot to pay respects to the mummified remains of the Ming Dynasty monk Master Wuxia, explore the Hall of Five Hundred Arhats, and gaze upon the natural Sleeping Buddha in the distance. In the evening, witness Buddhist rituals at [Jiyuan Zen Temple], the foremost of Jiuhua Mountain's four great monasteries. Later, check into the hotel.

After breakfast, take the scenic area shuttle to Tiantai Scenic Area. Transfer to the Tiantai Cableway to visit: - Ancient Scripture-Reading Platform - Ascend to Tiantai Temple, the highest Buddhist temple on Jiuhua Mountain, and take in the breathtaking views of southern Anhui's mountain peaks. After descending via cable car or on foot, visit the thousand-year-old Phoenix Pine. Proceed by coach to downtown Wuxi and check into the hotel.

After breakfast, proceed to Wuxi's [Lingshan Scenic Area] (a National 5A-rated scenic spot and permanent venue of the World Buddhist Forum). Pay respects at the [Lingshan Grand Buddha], then enter [Xiangfu Chan Temple]. Ascend the 218 steps of the Cloud-Reaching Path to experience the solemnity of Lingshan, and stroll through [Perfume Sea] at dusk.

After breakfast, the group will be transported by bus at a designated time to Wuxi/Shanghai Airport or high-speed rail station, concluding this delightful pilgrimage.
